Since February 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected every corner of the world, but the lives of the poor and underprivileged continue to be disproportionately disrupted. It is no different in the impoverished communities of Hong Kong.

Low-income families face increasing prices and shortage of food staples, basic necessities and consumables. They are also confronted by the looming unemployment rate and prolonged joblessness. The pressure is immense and mounting.

J Life Foundation

Founded since 2012, the vision of J Life Foundation Limited ("J LIfe") is to mitigate the cycle of child poverty and to reduce cross- generational poverty in low income families in Hong Kong. Situated in Sham Shui Po, the poorest district in Hong Kong, J Life create a safe place where families can come together, share their burdens, harvest relationships to create connectedness, and encourage members to help others to promote self-efficacy.

Kit for Fighting COVID

In light of the escalating strain on the needy, we partnered with J Life. We provided a grant that contributed to J Life's efforts in distributing both short term food relief & emergency funding to the families of Sham Shui Po.

This also went towards empowering women of the J Life family economically. Under the guidance of J Life staff, they were trained to set up and run a Community Resource Platform that sources and sells affordable necessities for the Sham Shui Po community.
